Garden Work

According to a fixed and regular schedule, I painted small-format watercolors in the Basel Botanical Garden. While working, I reflected on the anachronism of nature painting and the question of its relevance today. The work brings together a daily routine with the romantic idea of painting in nature. My own productivity is juxtaposed with the growth of the plants. The individual watercolors each depict separate sections of the garden and were assembled chronologically to form a new artificial garden.
