Fliessband (Assembly Line) is a modular, variable, expansive ink drawing on ten-meter-long strips of paper, each one meter wide. The work is created through the continuous repetition of drawing actions and the variation of the resulting patterns.
Strong brushstrokes structure the strip, while the flow of ink creates fine lines that are deflected into loops and flourishes. Monotony versus playfulness, chance and control determine the essence of these drawings. They can be installed in different rooms, varying in size and width, in an installation-like and expansive manner.
