Settling

The 15-part photo series “Settling” was created over the course of a six-month period spent travelling in Canada. Stairs, paths and walkways cut paths through thickets, leading to ramshackle wooden huts and improvised camp dwellings. Bleachers, benches and elevated lookouts provide views of the forest and landscape. The will to penetrate into uninhabited territory or untouched nature produces widely diverse installations in forest and field. There are professionally designed and maintained paths, as well as quickly assembled huts, and lovingly tended mini-dwellings.
