Image Stage 3/4

3-channel video installation, DVD 30', stereo, (Extracts), 1999

On three monitors, different actions take place with colored and shining adhesive tapes. In long static settings, the camera documents the creation of images and compositions.  I am simultaneously a participant on the Image stage, as well as part of the emerging image. If no action takes place, the composition, which is perceived as an area, dominates. When I reenter the room, perspective and proportions resign into the consciousness and the image changes through a new action. The actions are in part accompanied by music and the camera is moved by hand over the emerging images.
